PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION: "CARNAVAL POPULAR DOMINICANO"

Client: Institute of Hispanic Culture

This project was created to promote the exhibition titled "Carnaval Popular Dominicano". For the poster, I aimed to capture the vibrant and dynamic energy of the Dominican Carnival. Drawing inspiration from Timothy Samara’s book, "Making and Breaking the Grid", I employed a non-traditional grid system to break away from conventional layouts and establish a sense of rhythm and spontaneity.

My goal was to visually translate the movement and spirit of the carnival by using variations in text size, direction, and placement. These elements were designed to "dance" across the composition, reflecting the lively flow of music, costumes, and cultural traditions. In this way, the poster transcends being just a promotional piece; it becomes an extension of the celebration itself.
